Silence

By: Rockem!Sockem!Robot!

Whoosh, the chilling blast of the fall air came troughs the parking garage. I caught a glimpse of my curly black hair and think, mhmm who’s that rich quarterback …oh nice eyes. Sweet, sweet taste of peppermint swirls in my mouth. Suddenly, smells of cologne sneak into my nose. Thank goodness my shoulder feels better of the football game would be hard to play later. The slam of the door startled me and tunes from the radio fill my ears then static. I looked back to make sure I have all the computers I have to work on later. Then, the car battery died. As I stepped out of the car, I whipped my cell phone out. Beep bop beep beep…ring ring. Then, I heard my mom’s voice.

“Hello,” my mom said.

“Mom let me speak to Kris!” I whine.

“What’s wrong honey?”

“MOM, my car died, LET ME SPEEK TO HIMMM.”

“Okay Paul, `Kris…come down your brothers on the phone` okay here he is. Bye honey.”

“Hello, what do you want?” Kris said in a stubborn voice.

“Kris please help me …my car died…”

“You know what? You only call when you want something I’m sick of it, why would I help you anyways?”

“Kris …because I’m your brother, why won’t you help me, KRIS.” He hung the phone up on me. I started to walk up the stairs. Then the phone rang. It was from restricted. I answered.

“Hello?” I asked.

“Hello Paul.” I didn’t recognize the voice.

“Who are you?” I asked. I unlocked my office door. I tried to flick the light on, but it didn’t work…the power must be out. The thunderstorm gave me little light. I saw a movement…must be my imagination.

“I see you,” said the man.

“Ha-ha funny, how?” I was worried now. Maybe I really did see a figure.

“I would love to have you as a pet.” As soon as he said that, my heart started beating hard. I could feel it in my stomach. Then the phone died. Silence was all I heard, all around me. It’s like I felt it under my skin. Then, I felt something on my neck. It felt like something, someone was breathing on my neck. I turn my head and my body around. I saw black, now I felt the breathing on my chin. Lightning struck… what I saw…was a clown face so close his nose brushed mine. My breath picked up, I fell, and I fainted.

“Good morning sunshine,” snickered the clown.

“Wha…what…who are you?” I mumbled after just waking up. Now my head was saying panic. I felt a pain in my wrist. I looked to see what hurt so bad. My wrists were handcuffed and tied with rope.

“Paul that’s not important right now. You have no need to know our names.” The voice was different…like a woman’s voice. The room was a pail white with nothing on the walls. The only other color I saw besides white was red, red blood. The trio stood out with their black ensemble. They just looked at me. They were like a family…a family of evil psycho killers: the dad…who most likely kidnapped me; the mom….most likely handcuffed me; then there was the daughter, she wasn’t wearing a mask. She was a small girl with long snarly hair around her hips and a cold, ashen face.

“Please, please untie my hands.”

“Paul please stop complaining, it just makes me more mad,” the voice sounded like the mother’s.

“Paul we see you play football. We are your number one fans,” the mother said almost whispering.

“Mmhm, if you were my number one fans, you wouldn’t have me locked up in this white dungeon.” I then unexpectedly felt a razor-sharp pain in my leg. I looked down to see what was causing that much pain. It was a black colored collar that shocked me.

“Unless you want us to hurt you more, I would stop harassing us.” This time the little girl said it. She looked like she was in a lot of pain. I look around to see what was in the room, and I counted two tables full of weapons.

“What weapon are you planning on killing me with?”

“Ha-ha you just sit there and do whatever… If you hit the wall right there the bed will fall…have fun.” They took the handcuffs off my wrists and left. I went and hit the wall with my head then the bed fell. As the bed fell it had a dreadful squeak. When it finally made a boom to the floor I saw something I wish I hadn’t… there was a bed full of snakes…they were just slithering around.
One snapped at me. On the sheets, written in blood…

I tried to push the snakes off the bed, some fell and some stayed. Then I heard a horrid screech in my ears. It was a machine of some sort. Then blood started running down the wall, staining every inch it touched. What kind of people were they? Kidnapping, dead bodies, blood running down the wall, what next?

“WHAT NEXT?” then the door opened behind me. I turn slowly, the girl walked in with a gun.

“What’s wrong Paul? Oh, did the body freak you out?” she replied sinisterly.

“Yes, who was that?” I asked.

“Paul,” the man started trough the speaker. “Why do you ask questions that you know we can’t answer? Why can’t you be a good boy…like a dog?” I stood there in silence. I remembered the man that was in the bed…he was holding a bedspring. He probably used it to carve the writing in his chest. I should use it to cut the rope off.

The little girl started. “What are you thinking about?” she couldn’t have said it any sweeter…but I stood there and said nothing. Her voice became lower and sinister. “I said what are you thinking about.”

Even tough I was getting a little worried I said nothing.

“Answer me!” she demanded. I was still hushed.

“ANSWER ME!!” She shot the wall. Even though she was shooting and getting angrier, I still said nothing. She walked towards me. When she was next to me, I could feel her cold body. She raised the gun with her cold hands and pressed it to my head. And with no feelings at all she said, “Answer me.”

I abruptly panicked as I herd her cock the gun.

“Just about my family,” she gripped the gun tighter. “And how I didn’t get to say good bye to my brother or treat him better.” She twisted her face into something that scared me. I cringe in fear.
“Is that what you want …to say goodbye…I never got to say goodbye to my brother I’m still livin’.” A tear struck down her face. I felt a breeze behind me but I didn’t think to look..

“Get over it… God…GET OVER IT.” She pulled the trigger, my heart stopped…but there were no more bullets in the gun. She was furious and started walking away from me. She stopped moving and turned back to me. She was just looking at me. Then I figured out she wasn’t looking at me. She was looking past me… She nodded once. I started to turn slowly…then I had a black bag over my head. I felt my heart beating hard and my breath picking up. I fainted again. I heard the beeping of the machine in the hospital…. It gave ma a little relief, but I had pain all over my body.

I heard a faint voice say, “I think he’s going to be ok, just a mild heart attack… He just needs a lot of rest.”

“Thank you doctor.” I knew that voice. It was my mom’s.

“But,” the doctor started, “I’m still a little worried about the internal bleeding and gashes on his body… do you know how that happened?”

“No, he has been missing for days. I just found him in my trunk… I rushed him hear.”

“Ma’am umm we are going to do some tests… Why don’t you go get some food or rest?” I opened my eyes just in time to see her leave. I was sure I was safe. The doctor turned his head to me.
Then black was all I saw.

He whispered in my ear, “I told you we were watching you.” Then I heard footsteps coming towards me.

“Wah?” I mumble.

“And now you’re all mine.” I heard footsteps coming towards me.

The little girl leaned down and whispered in my ear, “Good morning sunshine.”
